Raya University (RU) has officially launched its Annual Creativity and Innovation Award Competition, an initiative aimed at promoting a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving within the university and the broader community. The competition, organized by the University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer Directorate; Innovation Incubation Center, was held successfully at the Zonal Level and featured two categories: one for the external community and another for university staff.
The primary objective of the competition is to encourage creative and innovative ideas, support the development of start-ups, and strengthen the link between academic research and real-world applications. It also seeks to serve as a platform where creative minds from both the university and the surrounding community can showcase solutions that address pressing local and national challenges.
In his opening address, Prof. Tadesse Dejenie, President of RU, stating the critical role of innovation in today’s rapidly evolving world, urged participants – especially the youth – to cultivate their minds and ideas, encouraging them to transform their creative thoughts into impactful solutions. Prof. Tadesse also highlighted the significance of the event’s commencement as a platform to empower young innovators, enabling them to unlock their potential and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
Mrs. Asmeret Kidane, RU’s University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer Director, in her briefing session underscored the aim and importance of empowering innovators. She also stated that the competition is designed not only to reward creative thinking but also to provide practical support for turning ideas into viable ventures.Furthermore, she stressed the importance of the inauguration of the event in bridging academia and industry and creating an environment where innovation can truly thrive.
Mr. Fikresilassie Teklay, the delegate of Tigray Bureau of Science and Technology, having applauded and acknowledged the university’s ongoing efforts in fostering science, technology, and innovation in the region, reaffirmed his willingness and commitment for collaborative initiatives align with regional development goals.
In the closing remarks, Dr. Mehammedawel Yesuf, the Delegate of A/R/CE/TT and UIL Vice President, applauding the organizers, participants, and stakeholders for their contributions, expressed his firm commitment to continue to invest in creative minds and support their innovation and growth in every possible way.
The event concluded with a recognition ceremony where winners in both categories received certificates of recognition and financial awards to support the development of their start-up ideas.
The awards aim to boost creativity and encourage participants to further pursue innovative projects that can contribute to community development and economic growth.The successful launch of the Annual Creativity and Innovation Award Competition marks the beginning of a new chapter in RU’s journey to becoming a hub for innovation, knowledge transfer, and community empowerment.

በራያ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ቴክኖሎጂ ሽግግር እና ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኢንደስትሪ ትስስር ዳይሬክቶሬት ሥር የፈጠራ እና ብዜት ማእከል አዘጋጅነት በደቡባዊ ትግራይ ዞን የመጀመሪያ የፈጠራ ስራ ውድድር የዩኒቨርሲቲው አመራሮች፣ በዞኑ የሚገኙ የፈጠራ ስራ ባለቤቶች፣ የዩኒቨርሲቲው መምህራን እና ተማሪዎች እንዲሁም የሚመለከታቸው አካላት በተገኙበት ግንቦት 27/ 2017 ዓ/ም በዩኒቨርሲቲው ተካሄዷል፡፡
የውድድሩ ዓላማ ስራ ፈጣሪ ተማሪዎች፣ ተመራማሪዎች እና ሰራተኞች እንዲሁም በዞኑ የሚሰሩ አዲስ ሀሳቦች፣ ተፅእኖ ፈጣሪ እና ችግር ፈቺ ፈጠራዎችን እውቅና ለመስጠት እና ለማስተዋወቅ፣ ተለማስፋፋት እና ለማበረታታት ነው፡፡
በመክፈቻ ንግግራቸው፤ በዚህ የዲጂታላይዜሽን ዘመን እና በፍጥነት እያደገ ያለው ዓለም ፈጠራ ያለውን ወሳኝ ሚና አለው ያሉት የራያ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕረዚደንት ፕሮፌሰር ታደሰ ደጀኔ፤ ዕውቀት እና ክህሎት ቀምረን በመተግበር ተጽዕኖ ፈጣሪ መፍትሄዎች እንዲመጡ በትኩረት ይሰራል ብለዋል።
ፕሮፌሰር ታደሰ አክለውም፤ የፈጠራ ስራ ውድድሩ መጀመር እጅግ ጠቃሚ ነው በማለት የፈጠራ ባለሙያዎችን በማብቃት አቅማቸውን በመተግበር ለማህበረሰባቸው እና ሀገራቸው ጠቃሚ አስተዋፅኦ እንዲያበረክቱ ያስችላል ብለዋል።
በመርሃ ግብሩ የራያ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ቴክኖሎጂ ሽግግር እና ዩኒቨርሲቲ-ኢንዱስትሪ ትስስር ዳይሬክተር መምህርት አስመረት ኪዳነ፤ ስለ ውድድሩ አጠቃላይ ማብራሪያ በሰጡበት ወቅት ውድድሩ የፈጠራ ስራ ባለሙያዎችን ለማብቃት እና የፈጠራ ስራ ለመሸለም ብቻ ሳይሆን ሀሳቦችን ወደ አዋጭ ስራ ለመቀየር የተግባር ድጋፍ ለማድረግ የተዘጋጀ ነው ብለዋል።
የትግራይ ሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ቢሮ ተወካይ የሆኑት አቶ ፍቅረስላሴ ተኽላይ ዩኒቨርሲቲው በክልሉ ሳይንስ፣ ቴክኖሎጂ እና ፈጠራን ለማጠናከር እያደረገ ያለውን ጥረት አድንቀው ለቀጣይ ከክልሉ የልማት ግቦች ትኩረት በማደረግ ከዩኒቨርሲቲው ተባብረው እንደሚሰሩ ቃል ገብተዋል፡፡
የዩኒቨርሲቲው የአካ/ምር/ዩኒ/ኢን/ትስ/ማህ/ጉድ/ ምክ/ ፕረ/ት ተወካይ ዶ/ር መሀመድአወል የሱፍ በመዝጊያ ንግግራቸው ለውድድሩ አዘጋጆች፣ ተሳታፊዎች እና ባለድርሻ አካላት ላበረከቱት አስተዋፅዖ አመስግነው የፈጠራ ስራ ለማጠናከር እና ዕድገታቸውን ለመደገፍ ያላቸውን ቁርጠኝነት ገልፀዋል።
የፈጠራ ስራ ለማሳደግ እና ተሳታፊዎች ለማህበረሰብ ልማት እና ኢኮኖሚ እድገት አስተዋፅዖ ሊያበረክቱ የሚችሉ አዳዲስ ፕሮጀክቶችን ማበረታታት አሸናፊ ለሆኑ ተወዳዳሪዎች የእውቅና ምስክር ወረቀት እና የገንዘብ ሽልማት ተበርክቷል፡፡
