Raya University Signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gumaye Foundation

Nov. 17, 2025 – Raya University and Gumaye Foundation, a legally registered non-profit organization, have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening collaboration in cultural preservation, education, peacebuilding, research and documentation, and community development.
The MoU was signed by Nega Afera (PhD), Raya University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Hagos Abreha Abay (PhD), Founder and CEO of the Gumaye Foundation. During the ceremony, Dr. Nega stated Raya University’s commitment to working with Gumaye Foundation and other partner institutions to promote the indigenous culture and traditions of the Raya community and its surroundings. Dr. Hagos Abreha, on his part, reaffirmed the Foundation’s readiness to collaborate with Raya University and similar institutions to advance culture, tradition, education, research, and community engagement in Tigray and beyond.
The signing ceremony was attended by several deans, directors, and executives of Raya University, and board members of Gumaye Foundation.
